Keith is enjoying his second year at Singapore International School, teaching PE, developing the PE curriculum and leading many programs in his school. Like always, he is dedicated towards his work and makes such a positive impact on his students. He's such a hard worker! Luckily, I get to visit his school once a week to teach the staff yoga. It's been a great experience!
I just completed my Masters in education at HKU, and sent off my final Masters article to an education journal a few days ago. I hope to hear back soon if it will be accepted. As far as work goes, I am working about 20 hours right now, teaching English and yoga. I am working one-on-one with students in their homes, teaching English to the age range between 3-30 (I have one adult). I feel this is a great opportunity to get experience teaching various age levels, especially pre-K and lower primary students, and I love having a flexible schedule. Because of my schedule, I am able to continue my daily yoga self-practice, as well as starting to teach more yoga. I'm currently teaching twice a week at Yoga BamBam, which is a small, artsy yoga center, where freelance teachers rent out the studio. I am teaching Hatha yoga on Sundays in their new studio in the Central location, as well as Candlelight Yin Yoga on Monday nights at the Sheung Wan location. I'm also still continuing to teach in Andiappan Yoga Community for the Overseas Workers Program, and I teach a weekly private yoga therapy class, and have started more privates through a company called Inspire Yoga. At the moment, I am happy with my schedule, but as a freelancer, you learn that you're always looking for new opportunities, so I look forward to seeing what comes next.
This upcoming weekend, I will be starting a 95 hour kids yoga teacher training course through Gecko yoga. I hope this course will be useful with my background in education, and as a future parent.
